DOWNTOWN’S HOTTEST ATTRACTIONS

  • The San Antonio Riverwalk is 15 miles of continuous hike and bike trails that go through the center of Downtown San Antonio.

Endless shopping, dining and nightlife in the downtown section of the Riverwalk.

Museum Reach Section of the Riverwalk travels north from downtown to the Pearl Brewery, San Antonio Zoo and Brackenridge Park.

Mission Reach Section of the Riverwalk travels south from downtown and connects to all of the Historical San Antonio Missions

  • The Alamo is a historic Spanish mission in the heart of downtown San Antonio.

The Alamo was the site of the Battle of the Alamo in 1836.

The Alamo and the other four historical missions make up San Antonio Missions National Historic Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • The Pearl Brewery is an incredible entertainment and dining area just north of downtown San Antonio along the Museum Reach of the Riverwalk.

The Brewery was established in 1883 and underwent an incredible revitalization and is a must see in San Antonio.

Hotel Emma is located in the old Brewhouse of the Pearl Brewery and is one of only two hotels in Texas to receive the AAA Five Diamond designation.

The Pearl Brewery is home to the Culinary Institute of America and many of the top restaurants in the city.

  • The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center is located in the heart of Downtown San Antonio.

A typical year would include around 300 events and over 750,000 convention visitors.

The namesake of the Convention Center, Henry B. Gonzalez, was the first Mexican American to be elected to the Texas State Senate in modern times and represented the state’s 20th district in Washington, D.C., for more than 30 years.

  • The San Antonio Missions are a collection of 5 historical Spanish missions which were built around 1700.

The Missions consist of the Alamo, Mission Concepcion, Mission San Juan, Mission San Jose and Mission Espada.

The Missions have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the only site designated in Texas and one of only 23 in the United States.

A great way to see all the Missions is by bike starting at the Alamo and continuing to all of them via the amazing Riverwalk (Mission Reach).

  • San Antonio is home to one of the largest concentrations of military bases in the United States and is known as Military City USA. At JBSA-Lackland, San Antonio is home to the Air Force's Basic Military Training Program which graduates thousands annually.

We are very proud and honored to welcome the families of the students who graduate from military training here each year.
